The main square in Atyrau was a busy place yesterday, with people of all ages gathering and celebrating Nauryz.

Many companies had their own yurta. People hustled and bustled to try and get inside - no orderly queueing here. Inside were many delights - food, drink, music and soft cushions.

Some companies also provided basic food and drink outside - all free - this is a time of sharing and giving. These ladies are outside of the TengizChevroil yurta.
