Babu and his daughters

I have just returned from a visit to newly flood-hit areas of southern Sindh, where I spoke to families coping with the latest flood emergency.

Babu stands with two of his eight children in front of the boat that rescued his family from the monsoon floods that have affected millions in southern Pakistan. Currently taking refuge in a school building, he and his family are from a nearby village and are still waiting for the floodwaters to recede so they can return home. He hasn't received any assistance for three weeks, when his family got a month's suppy of food rations.
